Our area for Young Children offers a flexible, and fun environment with a ratio of one teacher to six children. Special areas of interest have been developed both inside and outside, especially for this age group, for both planned and spontaneous play.

There are separate eating and sleeping areas for children. The children also have access to a large outdoor area with grass, raised gardens, a playhouse, a large sandpit and their favourite pet rabbit and bird.

Our Kea Teachers focus on providing opportunities for children to practice social interactions and build friendships with their peers. We encourage children to develop skills of communication and learning in an environment especially developed for their needs. Appropriate and interesting resources are provided that children can change and interact with.

Teachers support and provide opportunities for children to be independent and to gain confidence.
