Do you enjoy working with children? Would you like to work from home? Then read on....
We are looking for Educarers, to care for children in their own home, in the Havelock North, Hastings, Napier and surrounding districts areas. You will need to have a love of working with children, and interested in learning to provide a stimulating programme based on Te Whariki, the NZ Early Childhood Curriculum.
You will be fully supported in your role as an Educarer by our Coordinators, Donna Swannell or Rachael Grimwood, who are fully qualified and registered ECE Teachers.
Our Philosophy We believe that each child is unique and will learn with Educarers in an environment that affirms and supports each child holistically. Each Educarers programme follows the strands and principles of Te Whariki, where each child’s learning is extended, shared and celebrated.
We recognise and share our unique New Zealand dual culture and heritage and we value our joint partnership with parents, whanau and the wider community.
Environment Your home will be viewed by Donna or Rachael to ensure it meets the MOE Early Childhood Education regulations. Any alterations required to meet these will be at your own cost.
Qualifications You are required to have a current first aid certificate.
Workplace Training We provide opportunities for Educarers to continue to learn and grow in their role. We encourage our Educarers to complete their Module One of the NZ Certificate in Family Day Care. Donna will organise regular ongoing training and support sessions. Further information is available from the office.
Childcare Fees Our fees are from $5.00 per hour/per child. All parents will be requested to set up an automatic payment and to pay for their fees 1 week in advance. You will be reimbursed fortnightly.
Outings We encourage you to attend our regular playgroups and outings, this enables you to meet other educarers in your network.
Equipment Educarers should consider what equipment, resources and materials are readily available in their home environments that can be used by children e.g. books, puzzles, plastic containers, pots & pans. We also encourage you to join your local library and toy library for further resources.
Resource Packs You will be provided with a resource pack to help you get started in your new venture.
