Village Kids provides quality care and education for children under five years old.

We have four licensed centres.

· Te Mata Road Centre, Havelock North which caters for Infants (birth to 2 years).

· Havelock North Centre, HavelockNorth which caters for toddlers (2-3 years) and pre-schoolers (3-5 years).

· Napier Centres, Onekawa which is divided into three different areas. An infant area for birth to 15 months, a toddler area, for 15 months to 3 years and a pre-school area for 3 to 5 years .

Full time and part time care is available.


Village Kids Philosophy

We believe that each child is unique and will learn best when teachers and the environment affirm and support each child holistically. Our programme follows the strands of Te Whariki, where each child’s learning is extended, shared and celebrated.

We recognize and share our unique New Zealand dual culture and heritage and we value our joint partnership with parents, whanau and the wider community.

The Inner Beauty of our Pātamariki 

Each tiny Child has an inner beauty, as does the tiny Paua.

It is our charge as teachers to help our Pātamariki, to build their own layers of ‘life learning’, as Tangoroa charged his tiny Paua to do with his own shell of life.

Each of our Pātamariki is uniquely individual and their own life learning is as diverse as the colours of the tiny Paua, each is so beautiful and unique it is a wonder to see their colours of life being revealed.

It is our privilege, as teachers, to be part of our Pātamariki’s ‘Colourful Life Learning’ adventure.

This, the tiny Paua will show us all, that life is colourful and full of surprises.
